If you are looking for holiday cottages in Wales to rent, you can’t get a better location than Dologh Mill Cottages.

Dolgoch Mill Cottages are located in the hamlet of Drefelin, close to Newcastle Emlyn which is in the county of Carmarthenshire, known as the “Garden of Wales” The cottages are in a great location to explore all that Carmarthenshire has to offer, or indeed to explore the neighbouring counties of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, or you can trek eastwards towards the Brecon Beacons.

You can get to so many beautiful and interesting places in West, South and Mid Wales within an hour’s drive, whether you enjoy beaches and stunning coastline, beautiful country scenery, visitor attractions, or shopping and eating!

Tenby, Aberystwyth, Llandovery, Fishguard and Swansea are all about an hour’s drive from Dolgoch Mill Cottages.

Cardiff is only an hour and a half away by car, but you can also go by train from Carmarthen.

NATIONAL WOOL MUSEUM

Visit the fabulous National Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre, within walking distance of Dolgoch Mill Cottages, to learn all about the Welsh woollen industry through working machinery, archive material, and exciting hands-on displays and textile gallery. Entrance to the museum is free, although small donations are always appreciated. During weekdays you can see the various woollen machines working in the wool business that runs on the site of the museum. Parking is available and there is a cafe within the museum, a picnic area, and a lift up to the first floor machinery rooms and exhibits.

BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

Wales has more than 150 beautiful beaches and no trip to Dolgoch Mill Cottages would be complete without a visit to some of them. A short drive will take you to one of many beaches with golden sand and beautiful coastlines, for example Mwnt, Aberporth, Tresaith, Penbryn, Llangrannog or New Quay. Each has it’s own uniqueness and there will be something for everyone: quaint seaside villages, wild cliffs with stunning views and varied wildlife, wooded walks down to the sea, hills to climb, caves to explore, coffees and ice creams to buy, and some have seaside restaurants where you can spend a bit of time watching the world go by. If you want a larger seaside resort to explore then two great ones are Tenby on the south coast and Aberystwyth on the west coast, both around an hours drive away. Plus there are some great walks, including easy access to parts of the 870 mile Wales Coast Path, 140 miles within the Cardigan Bay and Ceredigion Coast Path section and 186 miles in the Pembrokeshire Coast Path section.
