Charming Self-Catering Cottages in West Wales

Dolgoch Mill Self-Catering Cottages, close to Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen in West Wales, provide the perfect retreat, nestled in glorious countryside yet just 12 miles from the idyllic coastal bays and golden sands of the Ceredigion coastline.

The three cottages, in the hamlet of Drefelin, just outside Drefach Felindre and within the Teifi Valley, were once part of a wool mill. The waterwheel which powered the mill can still be seen at the side of the property.

The cottages are all comfortably furnished with names that reflect the wool industry. Spinners and Weavers both have double bedrooms and Waterwheel offers three bedrooms. Together, the cottages can accommodate up to 13 people.

Dolgoch Mill Cottages are situated approximately 4.5 miles away from the popular market town of Newcastle Emlyn and approximately 14 miles from the bustling county town of Carmarthen. They are within easy reach of numerous visitor attractions, including the National Wool Museum of Wales which is in walking distance, and are ideally situated to experience all that the coastlines and countryside of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion have to offer. You’ll be able to explore many castles, fabulous countryside and seaside walks, river activities, and see the dolphins and seals in the sea off the Cardigan coast.

Guest Reviews

"Cottage meticulously prepared for us. Exceeded our expectations. Lovely welcome pack of bread, cheese and wine. . Tea, coffee, milk, butter, Welsh cakes - all the basics there for us. The setting is idyllic. Absolute gem of a place for an authentic, get away from it all but extremely comfortable holiday. A walkers, nature lovers, paradise"

"We had a fantastic time at Spinners Cottage. It has everything you need, is extremely comfortable and the wood burner is an added bonus as we enjoyed lovely cosy evenings in with our 1 year old. It's a good base to explore west Wales and the nearby coastal areas. Sam and Don are the perfect hosts and have created lovely well equipped self catering cottages which are furnished to a high standard and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we need. There was a lovely welcome pack waiting in the kitchen when we arrived which was perfect as meant we could enjoy a nice snack after a long journey before having to hit the shops. They even bought a garden play set for our son to enjoy which was so thoughtful plus they were able to provide a travel cot and high chair so we did not have to bring our own. The cottage is set in a little hamlet overlooking fields. It's so peaceful there and all you can hear is the sound of the river flowing - bliss! Its a great base for walkers and hikers too with plenty of walks around. All in all a great find for a relaxing trip to Wales."

"The cottage is situated in a lovely part of the country. The atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. The Weaver Cottage is so well appointed the owners Samantha and Don have not forgotten a thing in the cottage to make the stay very comfortable. They have thought of everything. Their generosity in providing a welcome pack is to be applauded. Would definitely use this accomdation again. Took a little bit of finding but no great problem"
